Arrival at Colombo Airport (preferably morning flight). Drive to Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage Watch elephants bathing and feeding in this sanctuary for orphaned elephants. Continue to Dambulla Visit Dambulla Cave Temple (Golden Temple of Dambulla) – a UNESCO World Heritage Site with beautiful murals and over 150 Buddha statues inside caves. Check-in at your hotel in Dambulla/Sigiriya area. Overnight stay in Dambulla/Sigiriya.
Early morning visit to Sigiriya Rock Fortress – the 5th-century “Lion Rock” offering panoramic views, frescoes, and landscaped gardens. Proceed to Trincomalee (approx. 2.5 to 3 hours drive). Leisure time at the beach or resort. Overnight stay in Trincomalee.
Morning city tour: Visit Koneswaram Temple perched atop Swami Rock. Explore Fort Frederick and enjoy coastal views. Visit Kinniya Hot Springs – known for their therapeutic value. Visit Pigeon Island National Park for snorkeling in crystal-clear waters with coral reefs (boat transfer required). Optional: Early morning Dolphin & Whale Watching trip (seasonal: March to August). Evening free for relaxation by the beach. Overnight stay in Trincomalee.
Drive to Kandy (approx. 5–6 hrs). En route scenic stops and refreshments. In Kandy: Visit Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa). Walk around Kandy Lake. Explore Peradeniya Botanical Gardens – known for orchids and exotic plants. Visit a Gem Museum & Gem Shop. Enjoy a Cultural Dance Show in the evening. Overnight stay in Kandy.
Drive to Nuwara Eliya via scenic mountain roads. En route: Stop at Ramboda Waterfalls. Visit Hanuman Temple at Ramboda. Tour a Tea Factory & Plantation – learn about Ceylon tea processing. In Nuwara Eliya: Visit Sita Amman Temple. Walk around Gregory Lake, Victoria Park, and Hakgala Botanical Garden. Explore the colonial charm of Nuwara Eliya town. Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.
After breakfast, proceed to Colombo (approx. 5–6 hrs). In Colombo: Visit Lotus Tower, Sri Lanka’s tallest structure. Stroll through Viharamahadevi Park. Visit Avukana Buddha Statue (if not covered earlier). Explore Fort Bazaar, Sea Street, Dutch Church, and Old Parliament. Visit Gangaramaya Temple and Aanjaneyar (Hanuman) Temple. Enjoy a brief Colombo City Tour – shopping and food tasting optional. Overnight stay in Colombo.
Check out and transfer to Colombo International Airport for your return flight.
